Hello! Welcome to our blog. You will find a great mixture of nourishing, filling, recipes along with extra delicious treats. All the recipes we post here are ones we actually make in real life, every day, for our families.
What’s this whole thing about?
We Should Make This started as a site for my family to post our favorite recipes so we could all have easy access to them. We’re all spread out up and down the east coast, across the ocean, and constantly found ourselves sharing recipes via messenger, usually saying “Omg guys this was so good, you have to make this” and thus, the name was born. After a while we realized we started customizing and creating so many recipes of our own, we decided to turn it into a real thing and make the blog public. We’re so excited to have you follow along!
Our recipes don’t follow any specific diet, but often times will just so happen to be vegetarian, gluten free, etc. We generally eat more plant based dishes, but still incorporate meat sometimes.
I love being creative with ingredients and trying different cooking techniques while still creating recipes that are accessible to everyone. We aim to make dishes that are budget friendly, easily adaptable to different diet needs, and all around delicious, satisfying, and nourishing meals.
I’m Stephanie, main author and recipe maker of most of the posts you’ll see! I live in Richmond, Virginia, with my boyfriend Patrick, who helps with a ton of the behind the scene blog stuff. He is also super great at cleaning my messes and generally being supportive when I ask him to eat another test batch of chili for the fourth time in one week.
You’ll also see lots of mentions of Jessica, my twin sister. She lives in Boston and helps test and contributes to a lot of the recipes on here too! We’re both pretty obsessed with food and talk about it constantly together.
We have two dogs, Ollie and Cooper. They take their roles as chief crumb catchers very seriously. It’s important work, really.
When we’re not cooking up delicious things in the kitchen, we’re often running around the city, literally. Patrick and I are both avid runners and have a run a handful of marathons between us, even traveling to Dublin, Ireland, to run. Luckily, with all the running we both have huge appetites and lots of friends who will gladly help test new dishes with us. During training season especially, we need lots of nourishing and filling meals (and all the snacks) to last us throughout the day, so a lot of our recipes are designed to be nutrient packed and filling for active bodies.
Most importantly, we love food and the community it can create around the dinner table. Cooking and eating delicious food is a huge passion of mine and I’m so excited to share great dishes with you. I wholeheartedly believe that some of the best times are enjoyed over a full table with good company, good drinks, and great food. Thanks for stopping by!
